Question from Bride: Any suggestions on finding a vocalist in my area? I have looked at the local merchants on this website, but could not find any vocalists. I have searched high and low on the internet but am not having any luck!
Answer: There are a couple directions you could go. You may want to try contacting a planner to see if they have any recommendations. You could also contact your local church. Many have ensembles and may be able to recommend someone who would be available. If there are any music schools nearby, you should be able to find someone who would be able to fulfill your musical need. Try these sugge...[more]

Question from Bride: How much should a bride spend for each of her bridesmaids on their gifts? What is a good amount?
Answer: I don't think it is about the amount, as it is the gift itself. I think there are several options you can do for any budget. $25 or less Maybe get them a necklace or pair of earrings to wear at your wedding. Personalized note cards are always a nice gift for anyone and they are reasonably priced. $50 or more Consider a bracelet from Tiffany. A little blue box is sure to impress almost...[more]

Question from Bride: Hi, Rachel. I'm looking for chocolate brown charger plates. Everyone I have called only has silver or gold. Any suggestions??
Answer: If you haven't done so already, check the Local Merchant tab on this site and select 'Decorations and Rentals'. These merchants may have the chargers you need. Not sure how many guests you are expecting, but you may want to try the local party stores in your area. Also look for restaurant supply warehouses (check yellow pages). You will probably need to purchase the chargers, but they are t...[more]

Question from Bride: Hello! My wedding is not until July of 2009, and we have decided not to send out save the date cards, the question I was wondering was how early should I send out invitations and how early should I ask for RSVP's to return? Thanks so much!
Answer: Typically invitations are sent out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding. Since you aren't sending out save the dates, and summer is usually busy with family vacations, I would shoot for closer to 8 weeks. As for the RSVP, find out what your caterer's date is for needing your final head count. Once you have that date, give guests 1-2 weeks prior to that date to RSVP. Congratulations and Good Lu...[more]

Question from Bride: What about using a silver with the red? Would that work?
Answer: Yes, but I personally would stick with a summery flower, like the Gerber Daisy. If you do something like a rose, it could look a little like a holiday wedding. However, in the end, do whatever you find to be the best combination. Really, there are no rules to color for seasons.
